Val Garland needs no introduction. As the leader in the fashion industry, she has worked with everyone from Lady Gaga, Kate Moss to Alexander McQueen. Her work has earned her several prestigious titles, including the first L'Oreal Paris Global Makeup Director, a British Vogue Contributing Beauty Editor and judge on BBC/Netflix's 'Glow Up', now on its third series.
Val searched for ways to grow relationships with her existing audience. She wanted to make her work accessible digitally, letting her fans experience it in a new, more personal way. In partnership with Maquillar Studio, she decided to create the filter with several of her famous make-up looks.
We created an adjustable filter that allowed users to select one of the four looks with various make-up combinations. The process of making a selection was aimed to extend the time of the experience and increase audience engagement. The interactive nature of this project gave Val's fans a chance to "collaborate" with the great artist, which strengthened followers' relationships with her brand.
