Lottie Stannard (Lotstar) is a fashion makeup artist who specializes in editorial and beauty print, runway, and celebrity red carpet. Lottie has worked with brands such as Marc Jacobs Beauty, Nars, Sephora, Hermes, Moschino as well as magazines like Vogue, Dazed, I-D, Numero, and W.

With more than 200,000 followers on Instagram, Lottie searched for an effective way to help boost audience engagement and build a closer relationship with her followers. Lottie and Maquillar Studio partnered to create a unique and on-brand Instagram filter that would provide her audience with a new outlet to interact with her page. 


We created a filter that was based on Lotstar's editoral work but was easily usable in casual content creation. We aimed to strike a balance between the subtlety and creative touch of the artist to achieve the maximum user reach and engagement.

The strategy that largely contributed to the success of this filter was the utilization of Lottie’s network. Within the first week of the filter’s launch, there was a rapid growth of impressions which led to high page discovery, increase in post engagement, and increase in followers.
